3D Spatial Education & Training Toolkit
The Challenge
Traditional training & educational programmes sometimes require access to remote, physically hard to access or potentially unsafe environments and conditions, creating significant logistical and scheduling challenges. For example, training might involve interaction with operational assets that are intermittently unavailable, too expensive, unsafe, or simply ineffective for use as training aids. The real asset might be in the wrong state of strip or build for teaching certain learning objectives. Some real operational assets might have constrained fields of view or a degree of inaccessibility that requires trainees to inspect these individually or small groups.
Even if operational assets are available and these can be accessed in a timely and efficient way, they are not always ideal training aids. Electrical or electronic equipment will need to be energised for training interactions to be helpful and this might not always be possible for scheduling, economic, environmental or safety reasons.
It can also be a struggle to convey complex dynamic processes and concepts by presenting dull, static, impenetrable physical objects. You can ask trainees to use their imagination and visualise what is going on behind that metal plate, but comprehension and engagement is often a challenge!
In general, whilst traditional training methods are generally reliable, these are not always efficient and they have very real practical limitations in specific circumstances.

Our Solution
Training professionals seeking to deliver more engaging, efficient and effective blended learning experiences value our PAULEY Spatial Trainer Toolkits. These are commonly deployed to address learning objectives that fall awkwardly in the zone between classroom and workshop environments. They are used to address topics that require access to complex assets, typically found in the workshop or in the field, relevant to learning objectives that are best taught in a calm classroom environment without background noise, safety issues or other distractions.

We elevate training to a new level with tutor-led, multi-device shared experiences. Using advanced technology such as the HoloLens 2, we digitally simulate the operation of assets and the use of synthetic equipment for maintenance and operations in a risk-free environment.
Trainees won’t need to move around your site needlessly, travel to other sites or hang about waiting for scarce training or operational assets to become free for use. Trainees will no longer need to struggle with abstract concepts or encounter challenges visualising dynamic processes based on verbal descriptions, diagrams in manuals, generic videos or PowerPoint slides alone. Instead, they will directly observe simulations of those processes in the specific context of the task in hand. They will see how the key parts fit together, the approved process and sequence for preparation, donning PPE, lock-out-tag-out, assembly, disassembly, operation, maintenance, fault-finding, troubleshooting and much more. Our approach enhances and accelerates learning processes, eliminates training schedule choke-points and removes the need to tie up capital in physical assets purely for training purposes. Moreover, our toolkits reduce the environmental impacts and carbon omissions that would otherwise arise from unnecessary travel. A cost-effective, engaging, and safer alternative to traditional methods.
This immersive experience allows for a deeper understanding of complex dynamic systems, surpassing the limitations of traditional methods.
